"Bare: A Pop Opera" is a modern rock musical about a group of seniors at a Catholic boarding school. They struggle to come to terms with their identities as they feel the pressure of the Church and their peers.

Lanndis De Lallo chose to direct this musical for many reasons. The music is beautiful and poetic and the Shakespearian sub-plot always makes her geek out. However, everything is eclipsed by the powerful and resonant characters. The intimate cast (approx 20) provides a larger canvas to explore individual growth with each character. Most importantly, Lanndis believes the themes of religion versus self-identify is an incredibly relevant topic in current society. The goal in performing "Bare" is to encourage conversation. The characters in the musical realise communication is not simple. Whether it's with each other, their elders, or Him, sometimes they're left with "no voice". We need to talk, and more than that, question.
